German soprano Brigitte Hahn debutes in the season 2013/14 as Amelia (Un ballo in maschera) and Anna Maurant (Street Scene) in new productions at Hanover State Opera. She will furthermore give her debut as Gertrud (Hänsel und Gretel) and sing Elisabetta (Don Carlo) and Madama Butterfly in Hanover. Concert performances are planned with the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (Missa solemnis).
The versatile singer has accomplished her change into the dramatic Fach by adding important roles to her repertoire. In 2010 and 2011 she sang Brünnhilde in a new production of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen at Hanover State Opera. Further roles in Hanover include Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier), Elettra (Idomeneo) and Leonore (Fidelio). Her first Isolde (Tristan und Isolde) she sang 2009 at Chemnitz Opera.
Besides the dramatic roles of the German repertoire she also concentrates on Italian repertoire. Roles in the last seasons in Hanover included Desdemona (Otello), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and the title roles in La Wally und Turandot.
Important projects in the season 2011/12 in Hanover were Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos and Brünnhilde in Der Ring des Nibelungen. Highlights in the 2012/13 season were the title role in Madama Butterfly and Tatyana (Eugene Onegin) at Hanover State Opera and the season opening concert with a Wagner programme at BBC Orchestra Manchester

She was a member of the Hamburg State Opera where she performed roles like Lucia di Lammermoor, Donna Anna, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Rosalinde, Mimi (La Bohème), Liù (Turandot) and Marschallin.
Roles like the title role in Norma, Armgard (Die Rheinnixen), Elisabetta in Donizettis Les Exilés en Sibérie (CD release) and Elena (La Donna del Lago) at the Festival Radio France, Montpellier show the broad diversity of the artist.

The artist is born in Duisburg. After her studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, she became a member of the Landestheater Coburg and later of the Nationaltheater Mannheim.
